Christmas is most children's favorite holiday. They love Santa Claus and waking up to open presents and stockings. Christmas was my favorite holiday growing up as well, but for a totally different reason. My little brother and I would be so excited for Santa Claus to come every year, we had trouble falling asleep at night. So my mom came up with a brilliant plan. All day long on Christmas Eve, she would bake the most delicious treats and whip up the best tasting snacks you had ever had. There were so many different things it still amazes me that she can make everything in one day. She would make chocolate covered peanut butter balls, homemade mints, many different kinds of cookies, lemon bars, a fruit plate, a vegetable dip tray, crackers, cheese and salami; just to name a few.
At 7:00 on the dot, she would set all of the delicious food out on the coffee table. My brother and I would get our sleeping bags out and set up a little "fort" right next to it. We would watch "It's a White Christmas Charlie Brown," "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas," and "Frosty the Snowman." They were always played on Christmas Eve and it was our special tradition to watch them. As we watched these shows, we would eat and eat and eat. Then it happened...at the end of the shows we would be passed out because we had entered what my mom calls a food coma. This was the only way she could get us kids to get over the excitement of Santa coming to town and and pass out.
Even though this was my mom's way of getting us to fall asleep, it was our favorite day of the year because of the yummy treats we got to eat. Christmas day the rest of the family would come over and we would all finish up the treats. The day after Christmas, it was time to go back to eating healthy, no snacks and no sugars. Most kids were already counting down the days for Santa Claus to come back to town, my brother and I were counting down the days until we could have another peanut butter ball!

24 Hour Fitness is my Community
24 Hour Fitness is a community because it is a place where many people who enjoy and live for health and excercise can join together. My gym, like most, is a comfortable place for people to work out because everyone is there for the same reason. Everyone wants to get into shape and be fit. I don't think that people judge or make fun of others while at the gym and this really holds the group together. Most people who join a gym share the interest of being healthy, the need of daily exercise, and the value that their body is their temple and they must keep it in good condition.
Although everyone goes to the gym with the same intentions, I do think that some people have a few different ideas about what being in shape means and what exactly it entails. This can work against the cohesion of the community. For example, some men (and some women) join the gym to build their muscles extremely large, and spend multiple hours there everyday. Many women join the gym to do extreme amounts of cardio and lose as much weight as possible. There are some people who join just to swim at the pool, sit in the sauna, or just to play basketball. I don't think that it works against the cohesion of the community too much, but when people are there with different goals, sometimes they are not as supportive of everyone else.
This community is one I want to be part of because everyone should keep in shape and stay healthy. I fit in with this group because I try to stay faithful to the gym, and my eating habits and keep in the best shape possible. I go to the gym for the same reasons that I think a lot of girls go, I want to stay thin. I want to be in shape. I don't kill myself to build muscles or beat myself up if I miss a day here or there. I still eat out everyone once in awhile and I still eat cookies sometimes. I don't think it is good to become completely obsessed with only one of your communities that you are involved with, you need to have a healthy balance of many communities. However, I do love being part of my gym's community and being in shape.

What's in My Purse
If someone were to find my wallet, they wouldn't find out much about me. All you would find would be my ID, student ID, debit card and my gym membership card. Yes, this does tell a few things about me, but not much. My purse on the other hand, would tell a story. I have a very large purse and it rarely gets cleaned out. I have my entire life stuffed into my purse. You would find my ipod, which shows what kind of music I am into. You would also find tons of lip gloss, perfume, hair clips, deoterant, make up, a toothbrush, lotion, suntanning oil, pretty much an overnight/emergency bag for any situation. Sometimes, you may even find clothing, and in the summertime, definitely a bathing suit. The contents of my purse show that I am girly, and always on the go. I like to keep myself very busy.
From the contents of my purse, someone might assume that I am too girly, maybe too "high maintenance" which is definitely not true. I just collect a lot of junk and am a procrastinator and don't like to clean things up too often! Something that people would miss about me from just seeing the contents of my purse is that I love doing anything outdoors. Just to name a few things, I love swimming, hiking, jogging, boating, camping, fishing, riding quads, sports, hanging out at the beach, like I said, anything outdoors. This is a big part of my life and who I am, and just from seeing the contents of my purse, one may assume that I do not like doing things outdoors.
To sum things up, I don't think that you can tell very many personal things about a person from the contents of their purse or wallet. You may be able to get a basic reading of someone and a few major things they are into (such as my gym card, yes I spend a lot of time at the gym) but for the most part, it won't tell you very many important things.
